These spicy bean burgers are a great alternative to regular beef burgers, they’re bright and colourful with lots of flavour.
Ingredients
Makes 6 Burgers
- ½ Red onion
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 1 400g Tin Cannellini Beans
- 50g Breadcrumbs
- 2 Tbsp Sundried Tomato Paste
- Pinch of Chilli
- 1 Egg
- Salt and Pepper
- 1Tbsp cooking oil
Directions
- Finely chop the onion and crush the garlic.
- In a large bowl, mash the beans using a potato masher.
- Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Use your hands to shape the mixture into six round disks.
- Heat the cooking oil over a medium heat in a frying pan. Cook the burgers in the pan for 2-3 minutes on each side. Lightly press the burgers with a spatula to ensure the heat gets all the way through. When they are cooked they should have become solid and golden brown.
