Recipes

These recipes are great for kids who want to do some cooking with a watchful eye over them or anyone who wants to prepare a quick and easy meal. Most recipes can be ready within just an hour (with the exception of breads and some pastries) and contain an element to them where you can be creative, which is what we’re all about!

Gnocchi

Gnocchi is a traditional type of Italian pasta, although made with potato. You might also know gnocchi to be called small dumplings. It contains very few ingredients and is very easy to make, although it can get messy (as I have now learnt). Get the kids to make fun shapes […]

Coconut and Lime Cake

So, I don’t know about you, but I’m really fed up of this cold weather! My mum is the same, so I thought I’d make a tropical themed cake to make us feel happy and warm in our bellies. I hope it does the same for you!

Chicken Burgers

Making fresh bread rolls is the most popular activity in my cookery course… and I can see why… the smell of homemade bread baking in the oven and enjoying it warm with lashings of butter… Or chicken and salad as we do here! These are VERY popular!

Lebanese Cheese Parcels

I’ll admit this is a recipe taken from the Leiths ‘How to Cook’ book, which cannot be bettered. However, I have simplified it so that it can be ‘ready in an hour’ and easy for children to follow. Buying ready made puff pastry is almost as good as homemade, plus it […]

Mini Victoria Sandwiches

These Mini Victoria Sandwiches are super cute, easy to make and lots of fun for kids to make. If you feel like being even more creative, why not try making your own jam? In school we use 350g frozen fruit (raspberries or strawberries work well) and 200g sugar, stir them […]

Roast Duck and Cranberry Jus

The first time I cooked this meal for my family I ended up cooking it the following day too as they loved it so much! I paired my duck with mashed potato, green veg and a lovely cranberry jus (a fancy gravy I suppose). This recipe would be the PERFECT […]

Christmassy Cornflake Cakes

Who doesn’t love a cornflake cake? And these ones are especially fun as we’ve topped them off with glitter and shimmer spray to make them beautifully Christmassy. Lots of fun and super easy to make!

S’mores

These traditional American campfire snacks are super easy to make, lots of fun and very tasty! If you’re outside in the summer and can build a campfire, then use skewers to roast the marshmallows over the fire and sandwich them between two crackers/biscuits with a cube of chocolate in the centre. Or if the […]

Individual Banoffee Pies

Banoffee Pie is a classic dessert, many people’s favourite and if you’ve never made it, you’ll be surprised at just how easy it is to make! Get your children involved, or let them get on with the whole thing. Super fun and super tasty!
