Granola

Create your own personalised granola with ingredients that you like to make your perfect breakfast! This recipe is fun for children of any age and can be kept for up to two weeks! You can easily make it vegan and gluten free too!

Ingredients

  • 200g Oats
  • 75 Chopped Nuts or Seeds of your choice OR more oats*
  • 1/4 Tsp Cinnamon, optional
  • 1/4 Tsp Ginger, optional
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 25ml Vegetable Oil/ Coconut Oil + 10g more if using extra oats* instead of nuts/ seeds
  • 40ml Honey/ Maple Syrup/ Agave Syrup/ Coconut Syrup/ Date Syrup + 15ml more if using extra oats*
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract, optional
  • 50g Dried Fruit of your choice

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180ᵒC. Line a large baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  2. Pour the oil, syrup, cinnamon ginger and vanilla, if using, into a large mixing bowl and then stir in the oats, including extra oats if using.
  3. Evenly spread your oats around your baking tray and place in the centre of the oven for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, stir and add in your nuts and seeds if using. Place back in the oven for 5 minutes, remove and stir again. Repeat until all oats are golden and crisp and then add back into your bowl along with your dried fruit. Stir and enjoy warm with yoghurt or milk! Store the rest in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
